The Glory That Filled the Tabernacle Fills You – Exodus 40:34-38

Tabernacle-Glory“Then the cloud covered the Tabernacle, and the glory of the Lord filled the Tabernacle…The cloud of the Lord hovered over the Tabernacle during the day, and at night fire glowed inside the cloud so the whole family of Israel could see it. This continued throughout all their journeys.” (Exodus 40:34, 38, NLT).

The climax of the Exodus occurred when the glory of the Lord filled the Tabernacle. God’s intention from the start was not merely to deliver his people from their bondage, but to bring them into a relationship with Himself. The real need for the Israelites was to know God personally in their lives.

What made the Promised Land the land of promise was the presence of God among His people! The glory that had been on Mount Sinai was now in Israel’s midst. God’s presence would lead them whenever they traveled and dwell with them when they camped.

In the same way, God wants to dwell with you and lead you through the journey of your life. So, God doesn’t just save you by the sacrifice of His Son, Jesus, but He sends His Spirit to dwell with you and daily lead and guide you.

The glory of God that filled the Tabernacle now personally dwells in you by the Holy Spirit.

Don’t you realize that all of you together are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God lives in you? (1 Corinthians 3:16, NLT)
